In January 2001 there was held a big meeting in Marrakech about tourism during which his Majesty King Mohammed VI constituted the basis of the new strategy embraced by Moroccan tourism. The main purpose: increasing the flow of tourists in order to achieve the objective of 10 million tourists by 2010, as set up in the tourist contract-programme.

Backed by these High Royal Instructions there have been created various special tourist zones, mainly in the north, to contribute to the promotion of investment in this sector.

Thanks to a careful planning these new tourism zones are meeting international standards in terms of equipment and services, which is proved by the fast growing interest of investors and developers and the visits of more and more tourists.

Than something else important is going on in the north of Morocco.
Yes, we mean the extension of the port of Tangier into one of the biggest container ports of the world and foreseen also with a multiple capacity for the transport of passengers.
It is an enormous and impressive project, fully in operation, and progressing according very strict norms and planning, and with the aim to offer at least 200.000 jobs in the year 2015.
Taking in mind also the planned new infrastructure of motorways between the port, the airport and the other Moroccan cities, it is not difficult to imagine what the impact of this prestigious project will be on the whole northern zone of Morocco.

In other words: Morocco is the investment place now to be.
